National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is a museum that celebrates life. Czech life. Slovak life. American life. Our mission is to inspire people from every background to connect to Czech and Slovak history and culture.

In addition to providing a research library, varied programmning for all ages, and educational initiatives (including curriculums), the museum has six gallery spaces and meeting rooms available for rental for social and business events and meetings. Our permanent exhibition is “Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey,” which includes multimedia and interactive displays. In the “Faces of Freedom” exhibit, visitors can go inside a replica of the steerage section of a steamer ship that brought immigrants to America, stand in Wenceslaus Square amidst shaking keys at the height of the Velvet Revolution, view a Tatra secret police car, an authentic JAWA motorcycle, a replicated communist watch tower, glass, porcelain, traditional Czech and Slovak attire, and more.
