Bonner County History Museum

Our collections represent the rich and diverse history of Bonner County, Idaho. We have materials dating from the earliest settlement of the area by Native Americans and fur trappers such as David Thompson and Finian McDonald through to current history. Local history projects have provided us with an excellent archaeological collection of materials which illuminate what Sandpoint and Bonner County looked like in the Railroad Era. All of the materials in our collection were used in the county and were donated by its citizens. We also possess a strong collection of historical garments and textiles used and worn in Bonner County, as well as a collection of over 60,000 of historical photographs. Furthermore, we are proud to own a vast collection of archival material detailing the people and past of Bonner County, which are available as a research collection to the public.

We are open 10am-4pm Tuesday- Friday, as well as the first Saturday of the month from 10am-2pm (subject to change due to holidays).
