Fox Island Historical Society

The Fox Island Historical Society manages the museum, gift shop, used book center, and the 1908 log cabin on our lovely wooded property. Our larger collections include a display of Washington state’s first woman governor, Dixy Lee Ray; a history of Native Americans on Fox Island; life-size dioramas displaying life in the early 1900s on Fox Island; the local maritime history; and early agricultural equipment used on the island. Our log cabin was recently accepted onto Washington state’s historic registry. It belonged to Lila Acheson Wallace who co-founded, with her husband, the Reader’s Digest.

Our museum is open Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1-4pm.
